Hamdard Public School


Hamdard Public School is a co-educational English medium School affiliated to CBSE, It prepares the students for the All India Secondary School Examination (X) and All India Senior Secondary Examination (XII) conducted by CBSE. The Hamdard Public School has all necessary facilities for imparting high quality education in a congenial environment.   

The school’s vision goes beyond the achievement of academic excellence. It aims all round development of personality, improvement of morals and manners is achieved through personal and meticulous care. The students are groomed to provide leadership in various sphere of life to their Community and their Country.

The School has an exclusive Educational Block, complete with modern amenities. It is divided into four sections. 

(a)   Pre-Primary Section

(b)   Primary Section

(c)   Secondary School

(d)   Sr. Secondary Section


               (Nursery & K. G.) 

A child should be  4 years old for admission to the Nursery class. The teaching learning process is child-centered and activity-based. The section is equipped with the latest teaching aids and toys and other apparatus, which are used extensively by competent and trained teachers in order to make the learning process creative and productive. 

A bond with nature is development through regular nature rambling activities. 

All the cognitive senses of the child are developed so that he is ready for formal schooling. 


The curriculum in the Primary section is so designed as to strengthen the basic skills acquired at the Pre-Primary level. This is done through activity-oriented child-centered teaching. A continuous Comprehensive Evaluation system is followed in order to ensure the holistic development of the child’s personality and to relieve the students of the stress and strain of tests and examinations. The curriculum is in line with the guidelines provide by the NCERT & CBSE. 

Urdu, Sanskrit and French are introduced to the students from class-III as the third language.

Life skills, Environment studies, Disaster Management, Physical Education, Art and Craft, Music, Computer Science and Martial Arts from part of the curriculum. 


A continuous comprehensive evaluation system is followed in class VI wherein students’ work is assessed through grading system. Classes VII to X follow the formal education system introduced by the NCERT and CBSE. The endeavour is to develop a scientific temper in the students and arouse curiosity about the natural  phenomena and the rich cultural heritage of our country. Language and mathematical skills are sharpened. 

Students of class X are prepared for the board examination. 


The school provides Science, Commerce and Humanities stream at the plus two level stage.

Bio Technology, Multimedia and Web Designing are offered as optional subjects.

Students are given special coaching for entrance to professional courses.  


A separate section is earmarked in every class for the bright students who are motivated and prepare for various competitive exams like Engineering, Medical, Law, Civil Services etc. They have to go through an intensive schedule. Special tests and examinations of a high standard are conducted periodically to assess the students’ progress, which is also monitored concurrently.

The “Super School” in the Plus Two sections is at the apex of the Super School sections commencing from class VI.

Project work, Multimedia, Personality Grooming, Public Speaking, Presentations and Field trips are integrated with their curriculum. 

Pass percentage in each subject is 50% and average of marks. For classes VI to  X eligibility criteria for this section is 75%. For Class XI, students getting more than 90% in the Board examination are selected. Residential facilities and special coaching are given free. Separate hostel and staff are provide for XI and Super School students. 


To encourage and motivate students, a student incentive scheme is being implemented. Under this scheme, the class toppers and the subject toppers of the Board class (X and XII) are awarded cash prizes / Gold Medals. 

The overall toppers of each class (I-IX and XI) scoring above the prescribed percentage as stated in the school diary will be awarded cash prizes and certificates on Scholar’s Day. 

Total Freeship is provided to the super school students of class XI and XII.

Scholarship are given to the girl and the economically weaker sections. 


In order to secure the overall development of the students’ personality, the school provides to them facilities for engaging in a variety of Cultural and Co-curricular activities conducted every Thursday and Saturday. 

Inter-house activities are organized to instill a spirit of competition.

Among these activities are Elocution, Debates, Quiz, Dramatics, Painting, Creative Writing, Vocal and Instrumental Music. 



The school provides facilities for a wide spectrum of games. In order to make optimum use of the infrastructure provided for sports and to give specialized coaching, the service of NIS trained coaches from Sports Authority of India hired. This is to supplement the efforts of the 4 Physical training instructors. Physical training exercises and marching in formation are regular features of the School Curriculum and are compulsory for every student. 


The school provides two spacious and well furnished dormitory type hostels one each for boys and girls. These contain such facilities as separate place for study, lockers and common wash rooms. Resident teachers and Wardens not only look after the students but also help, counsel and guide them. The hostels staff includes the Director (Hostels & Sports), Warden, Assistant Wardens, Matron, Assistant Matrons, Ayahs and Attendants. Their efforts are supplemented by House Masters and House Mistress whose stress naturally is on academic.

In hostels common central services are provided for hair dressing, tailoring and laundry.

Students are required to bring with them the items whose list is provided  at the time of admission.

Any damage done to the School property will have to be made good by students. 


Students are not permitted to leave the campus except when they go home for vacation or are taken out of the school to attend organized activities these, they will be escorted by staff members. All out passes for the boarders will be signed by the Director (Hostels & Sports) 


Periodical excursions and tours to different parts of the country are organized each year. These tours and trips undertaken at the expense of the students provide opportunity for recreation and education. 


            At School, girls and boys study together. They also take part jointly in the

practical work in laboratories and reference and consultation in the library and in co-curricular activities like debates, elocution etc. All these activities are carried out under close supervision by teachers, and a healthy climate of dignified distance, reserve and mutual respect prevails.

Girls in the hostel are also prepared by the school for the life ahead. Besides academic work they are trained in cookery, house-keeping and interior decoration, art, craft, painting and stitching. This does not exclude preparation for a career.



1.      A person seeking admission of his ward should obtain an application form for registration and a prospectus against payment either in person or by post from the Principal, Hamdard Public School, Talimabad, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi-62, INDIA. Registration  for new academic session generally starts every year in the month of December. All completed forms for registration together with necessary enclosures should reach the office on or before 20th December.

2.       Candidates selected for admission will be give an Admission Form to be completed and submitted in the Schools’ Office along with the following documents:- 

a)     Demands Drafts drawn in favour of Hamdard Public School and Hostel

Separately covering school fee and Hostel fee respectively.

b)     Attested Photography of Class X Marksheet (for admission to XI Std.)

c)      T.C.  (Original copy). In case of outstation candidates, T. C. should be countersigned by the Zonal Educational Officer of the concerned state/Migration Certificate  (In case of ICSC / State Board).

d)     Character Certificate form the Head of the institution which the students attend last.

e)     Birth Certificate in original form Municipal Corporation  /  Village Panchayat, for admission to classes Nursery to I. This may also apply to other cases where the student seeking admission has not been admitted to any school. 


3.      The admission Committee of the School will consider each application on merit on the basis of an Admission Test  /Interview and offer admission to the appropriate standard. The decision of the Admission Committee will be final.

4.      No test / Interview for Nursery / K. G. students or parents. Admission as per the direction of Hon’ble High Court.

5.      Admission will depend on availability of seats. 

                      Parents’ desire to have a Pre-Primary section in Okhla will be 

                      materialized in new academic session 2006-08.



6.      Every parents/guardian shall execute the prescribed undertaking which he will receive along with the Admission form.
