The department of Moalijat is a postgraduate department. It was upgraded to P.G. level in 1994. The department has been conducting clinical research in the MD programmes. Presently the department has been conducting two research projects funded by the Dept. of ISM, Government of India and a private agency. The thrust areas of research are Neurodevelopmental disabilities, arthritis, immunomodulation in infectious diseases, adjuvant therapy in the tuberculosis, liver diseases and atmospheric pollution related respiratory disorders. At present the department has one Reader and five Lecturers.

• Degree/Diploma in Unani Medicine from a University established by law or a Statutory Board/Faculty/Examining Body of Indian Medicine of equivalent and included in IInd schedule of Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970.
  

• Post-graduate qualification in the discipline of Moalijat from a recognized institution/University.
  

• Original published papers/books in the area of Moalijat.

• Ten years teaching experience in the subject of Moalijat in a recognized institution.
