The department is running two master programme namely M.Pharm in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry and M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. It also offers Ph.D programme in Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry. The main areas of research include identification, isolation and evaluation of constituents of natural drugs, plant tissue culture and its application and herbal cosmetics. The department has two Professors, one Reader and four Lecturers.

          Ph.D. degree with first class Master’s degree in Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry from a recognized university. 10 years experience in teaching/Industry/Research out of which five years must be at the level of Reader or equivalent.

          First Class Master’s degree in Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry and with professional work, which is significant and can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D degree with 10 years experience of which at least 5 years must be at senior level comparable to that of a Reader.

Desirable: Candidates should have published work of high quality and actively engaged in the development and quality control/standardization of natural drugs.

B.Pharm with first class M.Pharm degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from a recognized University/ Institution.
