Eligibility

A candidate seeking admission to M.A. in Islamic Studies must have:

1. passed graduation in Islamic Studies or in related disciplines securing at least 50% marks. Further, students who have passed Fazil (Graduation) examination securing at least 50% marks from a Madarsa which has been recognised by any of the State Boards of the Madarsas or by Jamia Hamdard are also eligible for admission

2. proficiency in English and Urdu/Persian/Arabic and knowledge of Theology and teachings of Islam

3. appeared in entrance test conducted by Jamia Hamdard

Candidates applying for MA (Islamic Studies) are advised to consults the list of Madarsas/Boards/ Institutions recognized by Jamia Hamdard.
Selection Procedure

For admission to M.A. Islamic Studies programme, a written Entrance Test will be conducted. The test paper will comprise of descriptive questions based on the Fazilat syllabus of Madarsas and also B.A. Islamic Studies syllabus of universities. The paper will have three parts – one part will be compulsory for all the candidates and out of the two remaining parts, one will be for the candidates who have obtained Fazil from Madarsas and the other for the graduates from universities.

The selection will be made on the basis of the merit determined by the performance of the candidates in the written test

Eligibility for admission to Ph.D. Programme:

Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. in Islamic Studies should have a post-graduate degree in Islamic Studies or allied subjects with at least 55% marks, Knowledge of Arabic/Persian/Urdu and English is essential.

Centre for Federal Studies

Eligibility for admission to M. Phil. programme:

Candidates seeking admission to the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Programme must possess Masters' degree in any subject of Social Sciences of the University or a Degree recognized  by Jamia Hamdard as equivalent thereto, securing at least 55% marks.

Selection Procedure

For admission to M.Phil. programme is made on the basis of the performance of the applications in an interview of the short listed candidates.

Eligibility for admission to Ph.D. programme:

Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. Course must possess Masters' degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, History or Economics, with at least 55% marks in aggregate

Selection Procedure

For admission to M.Phil. programme is made on the basis of the performance of the applications in an interview of the short listed candidates.
