This course is offered in Tahaffuzi-wo-Samaji Tibb, Ilmul Advia and Moalejat

Duration : Three years

Total Seats : 02 each in Ilmul Advia and Tahaffuzi-wo-Samaji Tibb and 03 in Moalejat.

Eligibility:

A candidate seeking admission to M.D. (Unani) must have:


a) passed B.U.M.S. examination securing at least 60% marks in the aggregate from Jamia Hamdard     or from any other university.

b) completed the compulsory internship for at least 6 months.

c) appeared in the Entrance Test conducted by Jamia Hamdard.

Selection Procedure:

For admission to the M.D. (Unani) programme, single written Entrance Test will be conducted for all the M.D.(Unani) disciplines.The test paper will have questions based on the B.U.M.S. syllabus of Jamia Hamdard. The selection will be made on the basis of merit determined by the performance of the candidates in the written test only.No stipend is available to students of M.D. (Moalijit), M.D.(Ilmul Advia) and M.D. (TST) from the department of ISM, Govt. of India. Jamia Hamdard may consider in special cases the payment of stipend of Rs.2,500/- per month .M.D.(Moalijat) students may be posted in the Majeedia Hospital on roster basis .

Duration: Three years. 

Total Seats: One in Ilmul Advia for external in-service candidates and one each in Moalejat and Tahafuzzi-wa- Samaji Tib for internal candidate.  If internal candidates are not available, the seat will be offered to an external in-service candidate. 

This is a separate programme of study offered to in-service candidates including teachers/medical officers/researches of the CCIM-recognized institutes/organizations.

Eligibility

A candidate seeking admission to M.D. (Unani) must have:

=   passed BU.M.S.  Examination securing at least 60% marks in the aggregate from Jamia Hamdard or from any other university.

=   completed the compulsory internship.

=   experience of 3 years as a teacher in a CCIM recognized institute or 6 years experience as a Medical Officer/Research Officer in CCIM recognized hospital / institute / CCRUM organization.

=   appeared in the Entrance Test conducted by Jamia Hamdard. There is no entrance test for In-service teachers candidates of Jamia Hamdard for this programme.

=   sponsorship and proper leave from their parent organization. In-service teachers of Jamia Hamdard and other colleges in a particular discipline in which M.D. is not offered will be eligible to apply for M.D. in a different discipline. Teachers of discipline in which M.D. is offered will not be eligible to apply for a different discipline. For example, a teacher of Ilmul Advia will not be eligible to apply for M.D. (Moalejat) as both these subjects are offered by Jamia Hamdard.

Selection procedure

In-service candidates will have to appear in the written Entrance Test along with the general candidates who are seeking admission to M.D. (Unani) programme. The question paper will have questions based on the B.U.M.S syllabus of Jamia Hamdard. The selection will be made on the basis of merit determined by the performance of the candidates in the written test only. 

Notes :

·      In-service candidates may be involved in teaching of B.U.M.S. students during the period of their study without any incentive.

M.D. Moalejat students may be posted in the Majeedia Hospital

Duration : Five and a half years including one year compulsory unpaid rotatory internship

Total Seats : 50 (Inclusive of seats reserved under SFS and ten seats for those candidates who qualify Pre-Tibb examination from Jamia Hamdard).

Eligibility :

A candidate seeking admission to B.U.M.S. programme must have:

a) passed Senior Secondary (12th Standard/Intermediate) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination recognized by Jamia Hamdard as equivalent thereto securing at least 50% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry andBiology.

b) appeared in the Entrance Test of Jamia Hamdard.

c) proficiency in Urdu comparable to High School (Class X) standard in addition to knowledge of
English . Medium of instructions of this course is Urdu.

d) not more than 23 years of age on of respective year.

Selection Procedure:

For admission to B.U.M.S. programme, a Combined Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted to test the knowledge of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Awareness. The standard of questions will be that of qualifying examination i.e. Senior Secondary/ Intermediate. The candidates shall also be tested for their knowledge of Urdu as per syllabus given in this prospectus . The selection will be made on the basis of merit determined by the performance of the candidates in the written test only.

Students admitted to BUMS programme may note that on completion of their course, they should seek registration as a Unani practitioner. They are not allowed to practice in other systems of medicine. Students will be imparted training in Unani-tib only.

Duration : One year

Total Seats : 10

Eligibility :

A candidate seeking admission to Pre-Tibb programme must have:

(a) passed Fazil from Madarsas / institution recognized by Jamia Hamdard and must have studied
Arabic, Mantiq and Falsafa.

(b) not more than 25 years of age on October 1, of respective year

(c) appeared in the Entrance Test conducted by Jamia Hamdard.

Candidates applying for Pre-Tibb are advised to consult the list of Madarsas/boards/ institutions recognized by Jamia Hamdard.

Candidates admitted under this category shall be required to pass all the subjects prescribed for Pre-Tibb before they are eligible for admission to Kamil-e-Tibb-o-Jarahat (B.U.M.S.).

Selection Procedure :

For admission to Pre-Tibb programme, a written Entrance Test will be conducted in Urdu to test the knowledge of the candidates in General Awareness and oriental subjects (Tafseer, Hadees, Fiqah, Usool-e-Fiqah, Mantique, Falsafa, Arabic Adab, Seerat, Tareekh-e-Islam and General Scientific Awareness). The question paper will comprise of descriptive questions. The selection will be made on the basis of merit determined by marks obtained in written Entrance Test only.

Candidate admitted to Pre-Tib shall be required to pass all the subjects prescribed for Pre-Tib in order to be eligible for admission to BUMS.

Certificate Course of Unani Dispenser

Duration : One year including two months Practical training in Unani dispensary/hospital/Pharmacy/ Pharmaceutical Industry.

Eligibility :

A candidate seeking admission to Certificate Course of Unani Dispenser must have:

(a) passed Alim Examination from Madarsas / institution recognized by Jamia Hamdard  OR intermediate (10+2) qualification in any discipline with knowledge of Urdu.

(b) not more than 17 years of age on October 1, of respective year

(c) appeared in the Interview conducted by Jamia Hamdard.

Candidates applying for Certificate Course of Unani Dispenser are advised to consult the list of Madarsas/boards/ institutions recognized by Jamia Hamdard.

Selection Procedure :

For admission to Certificate Course of Unani Dispenser, an interview will be conducted. The selection will be made on the basis of merit determined by marks obtained in interview only.

Certificate Programme in Unani Medicine

Duration : Six Months

Total Seats : 10

Eligibility :

A candidate seeking admission to Certificate Programme in Unani Medicine must have:

(a) passed bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in medical and allied sciences including other system of medicine such as Chinese Medicine

(b) appeared in the Interview conducted by Jamia Hamdard.

Candidates applying for Certificate Programme in Unani Medicine are advised to consult the list of Madarsas/boards/ institutions recognized by Jamia Hamdard.

Selection Procedure :

For admission to Certificate Programme in Unani Medicine, an interview will be conducted. The selection will be made on the basis of merit determined by marks obtained in interview only.

For Foreign Nationals interview is not required.
